The Local View

We believe that more robust and sustainable local food ecosystems are the key to public health, food sovereignty and economic vitality.  We are concerned about the sustainability and regenerative capacity of our communities today and generations to come.

Our focus on local food involves the following:

Producing Food

  • Capacity to grow: Land and soil management
  • Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and meats

Preserving Food

  • Drying, canning, etc.

Food Sales and Distribution

  • Local markets, food co-op, farm-to-table program

Re-skilling

  • Learning how to do all of the above

Food Consumption

  • Education and promotion
